At My Computer Tutor, we understand that one form of tutoring does not suit everyone, so we offer a range of options to provide you with the level of service that best suits your needs and budget.

We can offer you tutoring and support at a flat hourly or casual rate. If you require larger amount of tuition and wish to participate in one of our plans, we provide a generous discount of the casual rate. We also offer training as part of an upgrade to your existing computer system or a new systems that we can provide at special prices through Hewlett Packard. We can provide a computer system tailored to meet your individual needs. The following four plans offer you the flexibility to choose the option that best fits your needs and your budget. Your system will be delivered directly to your door at no cost.

Casual
If you would like the security of knowing that help is only a phone call away, but don't think that you would use many hours, then the Casual plan is the best choice. Our tutors can provide either in-person or phone support to help resolve common computer problems or to help you better understand an issue that may have been a little confusing. You may also wish to try our services as a casual user before you purchase a Plan.  *Hardware and software problems are typically more than the stated rate below which is mainly for introductory tuition.

Introductory, Office 2 or 3 Sessions
If you need more than one or two hours, then you may want to try our 2 or 3 session introductory plan that still provides a generous discount over the hourly rate.

Using the 3 session introductory plan also entitles you to use our pay-as-you-go option.  This plan only includes a basic consultation interview.

This rate also applies to our Office plan where business based productivity strategies are more the focus.  Typically organisational processes are identified and productivity strategies are discovered.

4 Sessions
The most economical of all the plans in terms of hardware, software and tuition combination. This plan is ideal for new computer users and provides support in the following areas:
 
• Basic to advanced tuition
• All basic hardware and software setup or upgrades including set up of
   broadband, scanners, printers & simple in-box alterations
• Simple repairs such virus removal & system recovery
• Complete computer support including networking & advocacy with
   agencies
• No travelling to the a computer shop for purchase or simple upgrades
• Competitively priced software purchases delivered personally
• Very competitive rates compared with hourly rate

This plan includes a (up to two hour) consultation interview before commencement of weekly sessions.

Distance
Similar to the Full Service Plan a special rate is provided for those that live in the outer metropolitan area typically more than a 25 minute drive from the city (or western suburbs) in a northern, southern or eastern direction.  This rate was created as a response to constraints caused by travel and time costs.  A four session plan at the full service rate still provides value and allows for support that also covers additional distance costs.

Short-term
Unlike the Casual and Full Service plans which are designed those who require session by session support and training or a combination of services, the Short Term plan is for the computer user that would like to have regular weekly training sessions but have no other needs but to general learning. By committing to a minimum of 5 sessions, we offer you a generous discount off the normal casual hourly rate (This plan only includes a basic consultation interview).

These popular plans are ideal for people who need help in a few areas and we offer you the convenience paying an initial deposit and then the balance as you go. 

A further discount also applies for additional plans beyond 15 weekly sessions if you need more time to complete original course content.

Long-term or 4 Session Continuous
We recognise that there are some instances where people may want more than 15 tuition sessions or beyond three months**.  This is dependant on learning style and specifically for people who have long-term vocational development needs or need a longer period to develop basic computer skills or may have other learning difficulties.

The Long Term rate now includes Full Support beyond standard tuition.

We are prepared to offer a special rate for those who want a scheduled weekly visit on a long-term basis.  Typically, this would mean a regular weekly scheduled visit on a set day and time.  Each session would need to be 1 hour 30 minute or 2 hours and paid upfront or as a deposit and then the balance on a session by session basis in cash, B-Pay or direct deposit.  The special pay-as-you-go option may also available. 

Pensioner or Unemployed
We understand that pensioners or unemployed may be on a fixed exclusive single income§ which may create cash flow challenges.  The 5 hour introductory plan is an ideal choice under these circumstances.

We also offer a very special pay-as-you-go option for pensioners of $100 - $135 for each 1.5 - 2 hour session based on $66.66 hour flat rate consisting of weekly sessions or fortnightly sessions.  Please note the commitment is still for a minimum of 4 sessions.

Curriculum
My Computer Tutor may offer courses that teach specific topics. Our range of subjects are vast, catering for both beginners and also for those already familiar with their computer. This includes such topics as An Introduction to the Internet, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database, Personal Information Management, Project Management and Electronic Banking (most major banks & credit unions that have online banking facilities). Typically we use Microsoft® Office and other productivity software including Corel® WordPerfect. 

Typically many our clients have opted to hand-write or type up their own notes specific to their most important tasks and we provide a template for this purpose but a richer understanding of subject matters can be had by following a set course curriculum.

These courses follow a specific outline and are designed to focus on a single subject to offer you the greatest return in the shortest time frame. If however you require more time to digest a subject, we will happily provide this to you at the same discounted rate as the Full Service and Tuition Only plans.

Microsoft Press continues to publish a full range of titles to help you get the most out of the Microsoft® Windows powerful new operating systems and productivity softwares such Microsoft Office - fast! From Plain & simple and step by step guides for beginners through to the latest tips for advanced users, we can match courseware to suit you individual needs.  Many and most people prefer one-on-one tuition but find that they do want a ready reference that they can keep for the future - not to gather dust on the bookshelf!

Likewise if a more "see, touch and discuss what you want" approach is the way you wish to purchase or add to your existing newer system, Radio Rental (Adelaide) have a store near you.  My Computer Tutor has referred a number of new students to use the convenience of a small weekly rental as a wise approach to meeting their computer need.  We have found the people their to be friendly and helpful.  Remember to mention that you were referred to them by My Computer Tutor so that we can both benefit.

The Full Service Plan is an ideal choice for new computer users.

Consultation
If you just require consultation regarding a new system or to try and identify your computing needs please ask about the special rate for 2 hours of consultation and advice.  Our supervisors are experienced in this area and are generally up to date with existing and future trends and can advise you how to best invest in the future of computing.

It follows that this can part of a 8 hour plan for no additional cost as already mentioned above.

Payment Options
We provide a secure B-pay service. This allows the convenience of using all major credit and debit cards by phone or internet banking. For more information visit www.bpay.com.au.

In addition we also accept payments in cash or direct deposit. Please note that all plans (not pensioner) are an up front payment on or before the commencement of the 4 or more up to 2 hours sessions.

Paying each session hourly is not available if choosing ongoing session plans.

Cheques are not usually excepted because of processing and clearance times!
